Live with the Dems, February 2007

Live with the Dems, February 2007

Happy Donkey People all done stuffing the mailing and now doing meeting stuff at the monthy usual of the Jonson County Dems. A couple guys are speaking on behalf of the National Security Network; focus is Middle East but it smells like Draft Wes Clark to me.

Dave Leshtz represents for Congressman Loebsack.

Dave Bradley of West Liberty talks up a local community radio group; they're meeting Feb. 10. He's also working for Iowans for Sensible Priorities (he has the scrolling pen as a visual aid.

Dennis Roseman announces DFA community activist training March 24-25.

Simeon Talley - who was one of the staffers Evan Bayh sent in last fall - is standing up for Obama. One of our body demands a stronger anti-war stance from Obama (roughtly translated: bring them home yesterday.) A staffer named McCoy is representin' for Vilsack. The same person makes the same demand of Vilsack.

Brian Flaherty and Melanie Gross announce they are running for county party co-chairs.

Off-year caucus is scheduled for March 31. Maybe we'll get some "dignitaries" in for that... it's the same night as Linn County's annual banquet.

The honorables get introduces: Morgancrooksfieldsbaileylynesslockettsullivandvorsky.

Now here comes the interesting part: a motion to endorse the SILO tax. Spirited discussion; closely passes (2/3 was required).
