Obama, McCain win Dixville Notch

Obama and McCain won the two tiny towns in northern New Hampshire that have a tradition of midnight madness voting on Election Day. This gives the winning candidate(s) a cutesy story on the election morning news -- like this one -- and a few hours of bragging rights.

Two facts I didn't know:

There was once upon a time an actual reason for this. Most of the residents of Hart's Location were railroad shift workers who caouldn't get to the polls during regular hours (take that, caucuses!)

The two towns have a lousy track record for picking the winner.
