Clinton's Latest Blatant Play of the Woman Card

Clinton's Latest Blatant Play of the Woman Card

Here's Hillary's new version of Vote For Me Because:
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton laid claim Sunday to Montana's famed female trailblazer - Jeannette Rankin, who in 1916 became the first woman ever elected to Congress.

"Remember, Jeannette Rankin was elected before women could vote. So who says men don't vote for a woman?" Clinton told an audience crowded into an airport hangar here.

Of course, Rankin voted against the war.
For her part, Clinton reaffirmed her vote to authorize the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

She also threw in a "joke" about taking longer to get ready than the male candidates.

Looks like at least someone is anticipating a solution to the Michigan-Florida mess: "the DNC has belatedly agreed to reserve hotel rooms for Floridians" at the convention.

And Senator Bill Nelson has wrapped up nomination reform as part of a comprehensive election package:
This new legislation will abolish the Electoral College and give citizens direct election of their president by popular vote. Additionally, six rotating interregional primaries will give large and small states a fair say in the nomination process. The legislation will establish early voting in every state. It will eliminate machines that don't produce a voting paper trail. It will allow every qualified voter in every state to cast an absentee ballot, if they want. And it will give grants to states that develop mail-in balloting and secure Internet voting.

Not yet sure how that'll all be accomplished in one bill. Other than the state by state approach, it would seem that Electoral College reform would require a constitutional amendment.
