Wash Post Shows Three Way Iowa Dem Tie

Washington Post Shows Three Way Iowa Dem Tie

The first Washington Post poll of Iowa Democrats shows Obama 27, Clinton 26, Edwards 26. Doesn't get much closer. It's a better score for Obama than other polls are showing -- the Post's caveat is heavier Obama support from younger voters who are less likely to caucus. That Jan. 14 (or 7) caucus date, falling during winter break for college students, could be a factor.

Rest of field: Richardson 11, Biden and Kucinich 2, Dodd 1. Mike Gravel is tied with Monty Python's Kevin Phillips Bong of the Slightly Silly Party with zero support.

Surprise late school board entry in Iowa City as GOP activist Deb Thornton gets into the race. She was one of the folks who headed up the local Republican ballot challenging effort in the 2004 presidential election.

Getting my head back into the ball game with the move and the laptop crash. Lost some email to a dead hard drive so if you haven't heard from me check back with me. I'm physically out of the old place and into the new -- but that's a long way from "moved."
