My Road Trips Have Changed Dramatically

A four year old doing an impression of Robert Plant singing Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" is really funny, even if he only knows it from the Viking Kittens.

He also thinks each line of the chorus from "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
A mulatto, An albino
A mosquito, My libido

ends with "a potato." Which kinda works.

For the sake of some actual political content, TalkLeft predicts:

John McCain will be the GOP nominee if he promises that as President he will continue to prosecute the Iraq Debacle. And I think this is a political loser in the General Election.

But will the Dem nominee recognize this? I have my doubts.

I hope she's wrong on the second part, but think she's right on the first.

Bush is clearly flipping the bird to everyone except the 30% who still back him and they either luuuuv the war or can't emotionally let go of it for various reasons:

1) Twisted intellect: the neocons want so much for it to work that they believe it will work despite all evidence.

2) Halliburton stockholders.

3) Sadly, people who have family involved in the shooting and don't have the ability to question the policy, having been thoroughly indoctrinated into the fallacy that "you can't support the troops and oppose the war." Many families of the troops properly reject this, and know that the troops are best supported by being brought home. But some people can't emotionally handle the cognitive dissonance of knowing a loved one is on a senseless mission, so they blindly back the war and the war maker.

Bush will retain the support of these three groups, as will his anointed one. Nominating anyone other than McCain would be a repudiation of an incumbent president unseen in a nominating contest in over 100 years (1896, to be exact, when gold standard Democrat Grover Cleveland saw William Jennings Bryan nominated). The GOP doesn't have it in `em.
