Rod Sullivan on Obama

Rod Sullivan on Obama

After the Hillary and Edwards blog-a-thon yesterday, a brief word from the Obama camp courtesy of Johnson County Supervisor Rod Sullivan:

I have recently decided to endorse Illinois Senator Barack Obama in the 2008 Iowa Caucuses. I am extremely excited about this opportunity, and I want to share my enthusiasm.

I decided to support Senator Obama for several reasons. To name a few:

  • Obama has walked the walk, serving as a community organizer in Chicago in some of the poorest neighborhoods in America. He actually gets it!

  • Obama led the fight to stop putting prisoners to death in Illinois.

  • Obama has a lifetime AFL-CIO voting record of better than 95%.

  • Most importantly, Obama had the MORAL COURAGE and COMMON SENSE to oppose the Iraq war BEFORE it started. That is real leadership!

  • Right now I want to vote for everybody and do it tomorrow. And even the second tier: if we woke up tomorrow and Chris Dodd, Bill Richardson or Joe Biden were president, the world would be a much better place. Can all six of them be president for 48 years? All right, so that would make Joe Biden 114 by the end of his second term...
