Obama Seeks Packer Backers

Obama Seeks Packer Backers

Barack campaigns in Madison:
Obama, ever seeking unity, also acknowledged the inherent difficulties he, as a Chicago Bears fan, may have in seeking support in Green Bay Packer country.

"We've got some Badgers for Obama, we've got some cheeseheads for Obama. Cheeseheads for change, I like that, cheese heads for change. What a wonderful crowd. Never before has this many Packers fans cheered for a Bears fan," ABC's Sunlen Miller reports.

Obama also remembered to compliment Packer living legend Bret (sic) Favre, noting, "I've got to give him some credit. Bret (sic) Favre is almost as old as me. But he's got more gray hair."

Give the guy credit for sticking by his team in the heart of enemy territory, unlike candidates who try to cheer for the Yankees and Cubs -- or worse, Yankees and Red Sox -- simultaneously. But ABC, try to spell the first name of the all-time TD pass leader right.

I would also take time to compare the relative records of Green Bay and Chicago -- except for the nature of that one Packer loss and one Bear win this year.
