Dam That's A Lot Of Water

Dam, That's A Lot Of Water

My guys at the top of the Coralville Reservoir spillway. That wavy blue line on the upper right is the 1993 record. Water will probably be flowing where they're standing in a few days.

Off in the distance, the roof of a picnic shelter, looking like a floating Asian hat.

The panoramic view

The road to the outflow pipe is under water but only about 18 inches deep, so people were wading across.

The thing I'll never forget from `93 is the smell -- that dead fish ambience that lingered for months.
