Obama Cancels Cedar Rapids Trip Due To Flood
Barack Obama's scheduled Wednesday visit to Cedar Rapids has been cancelled due to the flood emergency.
"After talking to Governor Culver’s staff, the Obama campaign wanted to ensure that no resources were diverted away from Iowans devastated by the floods," the campaign said in a press release.
The Democratic nominee-to-be had been scheduled to hold a by-invitation town hall forum on the economy at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School. He visited Kennedy High in February 2007 in his first Iowa appearance as a presidential candidate, on the day of his announcement.
