All Marriage All The Time

All Marriage All The Time

Tha Guv finally speaks and while he's fully in support of the court, he just has to throw in the "I personally believe that marriage is between a man and a woman" line. At least Culver didn't open with that like Harkin did.

Mike Gronstal, meanwhile, takes on the constitutional convention issue head on: “There’s a lot of good, progressive issues that we could pursue: a woman’s right to choose, guaranteed health care for all Iowa citizens, workers’ rights — so if there are people that want to help us get to a constitutional convention, that’s kind of my dream world.”

At this point, the GOP begins to backpedal, with former Senate leader Ron Weick undercutting their whole argument: “We have bumps in the road but we’re operating pretty well without going in and messing with the Constitution.”

And marriage itself is pushed back a weekend to April 27 due to court furloughs.
