You all know about The Big One, of course. They're now saying in public that the Obama Obama Biden Biden event starts at 5, but if you want a shot at a spot up front or on the rope line for a possible handshake, you need to get to the Pentacrest well before the gates open at 1.
If you like Democrats but prefer smaller crowds, here's a couple other things:
A Convention Watch party tonight at Gus' Food & Spirits, 2421 Coral Court, Coralville (off of 965). Watch President Obama's acceptance speech before you see him live. The actual speech will probably be around 9:00pm, unless we're operating on CST (Clinton Standard Time), but the party starts around 7.
Sally Stutsman is hosting a reception and fundraiser on Sunday from 2-4pm at the North Liberty Community Center (Gerdin Room) UPDATEwith guest House Dem leader Kevin McCarthy.
And if you swing the other way, RNC chair Reince Priebus will be in Coralville tonight for the Johnson County Republican's barvecue. Event is at their Coralville strip HQ from 5 to 8; The Reince is scheduled to speak at 5:30.
